Rangapara College, established in 1979, is affiliated with Gauhati University in 1980. The college was brought under the Deficit Grant-in-Aid system (now provincialized) starting from January 1, 1987. It was officially included under Section 12(B) of the UGC Act on March 20, 1996, further strengthening its academic foundation. In 2004, the college earned its first accreditation with a B+ grade from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), a significant milestone in its journey. This was followed by a re-accreditation in 2011 with a B grade, and in 2023, the college achieved an impressive B++ grade with a CGPA of 2.88, reflecting its continuous progress and commitment to quality education
From its modest beginnings in the Rangapara Town Hall, the college was relocated to its current, expansive campus on August 16, 1979. Situated amidst lush green tea gardens, the 41-acre (122 Bigha) campus offers a serene and conducive environment for learning. Over the years, the college’s growth has been nothing short of remarkable. The faculty strength has increased significantly, leading to the production of a growing number of graduates each year
