Established in 1979, Rangapara College has stood as a guiding light of higher education in rural Assam. Dedicated to uplifting economically and socially disadvantaged communities, the College has continually worked to shape students into capable, confident individuals ready to meet the demands of a rapidly changing world—both nationally and globally.

Nestled on a sprawling 40.33-acre campus, Rangapara College offers a serene yet vibrant learning environment. Our modern infrastructure is designed to nurture the holistic development of our students. From well-equipped science laboratories and an automated library to a digital seminar hall and indoor sports complex, every corner of our campus is a testament to our commitment to excellence. Facilities such as a gymnasium, spacious auditorium, canteen, college mart, and fully secured hostels for both boys and girls ensure that students can grow both academically and personally in a safe, supportive atmosphere.

Since joining the College in 2018, I have worked with dedication to expand and enhance our academic and infrastructural offerings. We proudly introduced the Science stream, offering Major and Minor courses across Science, Arts, and Commerce. We have also launched a Postgraduate program in Hindi, further broadening our academic horizons. As of the upcoming academic session, we are excited to introduce the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP – BA-BEd), recognized by NCTE, aligning with our vision to nurture future educators.

Our core mission remains unwavering: to provide a high-quality academic environment that inspires students not only to excel in their careers but also to contribute meaningfully to society. The College is prepared to embrace the changes brought by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, ensuring our students are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the evolving global landscape.

It brings me immense pride to share that Rangapara College has been conferred Autonomous Status by the University Grants Commission (UGC), effective from the academic year 2025–26. This milestone empowers us to tailor our curriculum, innovate in teaching methodologies, and better meet the academic and professional aspirations of our students.
